A Glimpse Into The Executive Lifestyle

A glimpse into the executive usually starts before dawn. Depending on the industry it can be as early as four or five in the morning. Executive lead a very demanding life and time is usually at a premium. Rarely do executives get time in the day to exercise or work out. They usually try to get in some reps before the morning coffee if possible. After performing daily rituals, or even before, the executive would be drawn to their email and then the news.

The use of technology has enabled many executives to become more efficient. For example, smart phones, personal digital assistants, and now the likes of the Kindle reader are allowing executives to remain on top of communications and events even when traveling or commuting. These devices have supplanted the morning news paper and further enable the multi-tasker.

The executive attire is also an important aspect of today’s executive. Not only does one need to be prepared, but also look and dress the part. Many professionals have the basic suit and tie outfit. However, nowadays the business casual look has also become a focal point. The weather also contributes to one’s wardrobe selection. Many professionals typically abstain from jewelry except maybe a designer men’s sport watch. Cuff links have garnered some attention, of late.

The daily grind can be tiresome and stressful at times. To alleviate the stress many have hobbies or recreational junkets that allow one to relax. This can vary from person to person. Often times, a good long sleep helps cure many of the effects. However, it is better to be busy than not. As they say, idle hands are the devil’s playground.

For fun and often times work, many executives also lead active social lives. Trendy eateries and night clubs are common play grounds for the up and coming executive. The more mature executives tend to do more cerebral or family related activities. However, not all executives are the same. In reality, many of their lives are as dull as the next. They work long hours and try to enjoy their free time as best as possible. Stereotypes don’t really hold up in reality.

The executives also tend to be more health conscious. Many, in fact, would rather cook at home using organic ingredients. Cooking at home can take on an entirely new meaning with all the gadgets available on the market today. However, one staple accessory has been a Cuisinart food processor. This machine is versatile for all types of cooking and also is less traumatic on the hands, as it removes a lot of the slicing and dicing. A good juicer is also very useful.

In the end, the daily lives of executives are not much different than any other profession. It all comes down to the individual. We as a society tend to depict certain groups of people as we would like to view them, but in reality they are all similar. The difference is time and environment. There are many social critics out there but the life of an executive is often times a demanding one.
